Last Updated:
Overview
Administrators and end-users can configure an application to automatically launch upon signing in to Okta by modifying its settings in the End-User Dashboard. This configuration requires selecting the auto-launch option within the application details. Hidden applications do not auto-launch, and administrative auto-launch assignments only apply to newly assigned users.

Solution
How is an application configured to auto-launch upon sign-in?
Configure an application to automatically open upon authentication by accessing the application settings in the Okta End-User Dashboard and enabling the auto-launch feature.
- Sign in to the Okta tenant.
- Locate the application requiring the auto-launch configuration.
- Select the three dots located at the top right-hand corner of the application icon to open the settings menu.
- Select Edit on the settings panel that appears on the right side of the screen to modify the application details.
- Select the Auto-launch this app when I sign in checkbox.
- Select Save.
NOTE: The administrative auto-launch configuration only applies to newly assigned users. If administrators cannot reassign the application and end-users cannot manually activate the feature, create a Bookmark App using the URL of the existing application. Additionally, hidden applications do not auto-launch.
