Okta Provisioning to Monday.com Fails With Email Already Been Taken Error

Overview
A provisioning failure occurs in Okta when assigning a new user to the Monday.com application because an account with the same email address already exists in Monday.com. To resolve this, administrators must address the duplicate email address directly in Monday.com and retry the failed task in Okta. The following error appears during the initial provisioning attempt:
Push new user to external application FAILURE: Bad Request. Errors reported by remote server: Validation failed: Email has already been taken

Cause
The Monday.com System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) server rejects the Okta request to push a new user because an existing Monday.com account already uses the same email address.
Solution
What steps resolve the Monday.com provisioning error?
Verify the duplicate email issue in Monday.com, contact Monday.com support for remediation, and retry the failed task in Okta by performing the following actions.
- Log in to the Monday.com Admin Console.
- Attempt to manually create a new user account using the problematic email address.
- If Monday.com generates the same error, contact Monday.com Support to investigate and remediate the duplicate email address issue.
- After resolving the duplicate account issue in Monday.com, navigate to Dashboard > Tasks in the Okta Admin Console.
- Locate the failed Monday.com assignment task and retry it.
