Is there anything in Okta's pipeline to allow editing the names of our Security key or Biometric Authenticators in our Okta settings?

There are currently no plans for Authenticator rename features. There were some submission on the topic a few years ago but, unfortunately, they did not get enough traction.
You can suggest it on the Okta Community page by going to the Community→ Ideas tab. Features suggested in our community are reviewed and can be voted and commented on by other members. High popularity will increase the likelihood of it being picked up by the Product Team and it being implemented.

With the MyAccount mgmt API having a nickname updates, would this suffice? Seems to not work as expected but seems to be an option. https://okta-developer.pixtulate.com/docs/api/openapi/okta-myaccount/myaccount/tag/Authenticators/#tag/Authenticators/operation/updateEnrollment
Thanks Brad. My team has enabled this feature and this works for us for now. We can't see the nicknames in the admin console, but this will help our employees manage their passkeys
