Bypass Okta SSO to Sign into O365

Is there a way to bypass Okta SSO to login to O365? I am trying to test a use case if this is possible for some users that are imported in okta but don't have access to O365.

Hi @Angela DorothyV.91568 (Customer) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

WS-Federation is done at domain level, as such, the bypass of SSO is theoretically not possible.

That being said, it all depends on the Service Provider as some allow SSO at the same time as basic authentication. For example, I know Google allowed Admins to bypass SSO, and Salesforce also had an option.

In the case of M365, legacy authentication might still be an option provided you have the configuration for it, but I would advise against it seeing as it poses a security risk.

I recommend reading the following articles for more details around possible scenarios:

How to Continue Using Office 365 Service Accounts after the Domain got Federated with Okta

    Securing Office 365 with Okta

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
